Abstract Over the course of past three decades, Western politics has gone from one extreme to another. Whereas immediate post-Cold War years were marked by a cosmopolitan heyday, in recent we are witnessing nationalist backlash. Given this heightened political polarization, quest for viable middle ground becomes all more pressing.
